What Is Rubber Extrusion?
Rubber extrusion is a continuous manufacturing process in which uncured rubber compound is forced through a shaped die to produce a profile of consistent cross-section. The extruded rubber is then cured using heat — either through hot air vulcanisation (HAV) or a salt bath (LCM).
The process is ideal for producing seals, gaskets, tubing, strips, and complex custom profiles in large volumes with tight dimensional tolerances. Compared to moulding, extrusion is particularly cost-effective for long-run, continuous profiles.
